Woodcroft Veterinary Group describes itself as a group of six practices with a “state-of-the-art” veterinary hospital providing routine care alongside referral and emergency treatment for dogs, cats and rabbits. The website highlights major hospital facilities (multiple operating theatres, CT, ultrasound, X‑ray, in-house lab facilities, and visiting MRI), which fits with reviews describing hospital-level cases such as corneal ulcer surgery and intensive resuscitation attempts.
Owners’ recent experiences are mixed: several reviews describe detailed updates and follow-up (including daily calls after a pet’s death and vets staying in touch after treatment), while one recent 1‑star review alleges a late-night consultation led to a recommendation for immediate euthanasia that the owner feels was inappropriate.
Concrete examples mentioned include CPR and injectable treatment for 45 minutes on arrival in an emergency, urgent treatment for a corneal ulcer, and referrals in for heart murmur assessment/treatment.
Based on the clinic website and the latest reviews, services/capabilities mentioned include
Google rating: 4.4 stars from 172 reviews.

*UPDATED* The generic copy and pasted message I’ve received in response to my review is laughable and makes you look like an even more uncaring and money grabbing company.. There is no care, compassion or even acknowledgment. Your company is a joke and I hope that people seriously think about whether your advice to kill their pets is what they should be listening to!!! I brought my boy here at around midnight after getting home from work and seeing he was sick. The vet told me after a quick consultation that his advice was to put Oscar to sleep immediately and told me I would be acting unethically to do anything else as he didn’t think he would get through the night. I was absolutely broken and I felt the vets approach towards my situation was harsh and desensitised. I elected to treat my boy and take him to my normal vets in the morning. I wanted to at least give him the night to recover as he wasn’t ill that morning and it was all so sudden. I took him home and the next morning my vets treated him for an infection with steroids and antibiotics. More than two weeks later, my 21 year old boy is back to his usual self, running around shouting for food, playing with his toys and dribbling when you stroke him. My advice here would to be cautious, just because Oscar is old and had an infection, doesn’t mean his life wasn’t worth saving.. I’m suspicious of a vet who charges £260 past 11pm for a consultation who then advises such an expensive procedure at the same time.. Hmm, safe to say I’m glad I didn’t listen to his advice as although there was uncertainty for a week, Oscar is better now and back to living a full and happy life the old boy 😊

We cannot thank the team at Woodcroft Vets enough for the compassionate care they gave our dog in her final days. Every single member of staff was kind, understanding and treated both her and us with such dignity and respect during an incredibly difficult time. Nothing ever felt rushed, and their genuine empathy made all the difference. A truly lovely team who went above and beyond, and we will always be grateful for the care they showed us.

Our pug was urgently treated at Woodcroft for an ulcer on his cornea. The care from the staff was fantastic from the reception team, the nurses and the brilliant surgeon Alistair. Hopefully we are at the end of the treatment but I cannot recommend highly enough, every one at the hospital, pets are truly part of the family and watching what our Reggie has gone through is distressing, without Woodcroft it could have been so much worse. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts xx

It's been just over a year since my Mimi was last treated at Woodcroft Veterinary Hospital. An extremely traumatic experience that I had at another veterinary surgery was put right by Woodcroft. Mimi was very well looked after by Alex Wilson, and Alex treated my need to find a solution with urgency and compassion. I cannot thank Alex enough for helping Mimi and I feel forever grateful and lucky to have had Alex looking after us. I really cannot recommend Woodcroft enough and I hope my review and latest photos of Mimi gets passed on to Alex.

I honestly could not recommend this veterinary practice highly enough. They have gone above and beyond to support us through the heartbreaking loss of our little girl, Bailey. Despite us not even being registered clients, we arrived in an emergency devastatingly she passed on the way there however, they treated us with the utmost compassion, care, and urgency. They did absolutely everything possible to save her, performing CPR and administering injectables for 45 minutes straight. The dedication, empathy, and effort they showed will stay with us forever. The aftercare support has been exceptional, daily calls, genuine updates, and an unwavering determination to find us answers. Helen and Chloe, in particular, have been nothing short of incredible. No words could ever truly express our gratitude for how kind, patient, and reassuring they have been throughout this devastating time. They made sure we knew Bailey was in the very best hands, and that comfort means the world to us. We wish we initially registered with them as if we did, I truly believe Bailey would still be here today as they would’ve acted and found a solution for Bailey’s illness, as their professionalism, compassion, and genuine love for animals are unmatched. They are clearly in this for the right reasons to help and care, not for profit. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you’ve done for us. Your kindness has brought us peace during the hardest moment of our lives, we will never forget it and forever be grateful. 🩷

After reading any negative reviews, we can wholeheartedly say we have received nothing but the very best of care for our elderly dog. Woodcroft have only been professional, caring and kept us updated about the care he received every step of the way. We really thought he was touch and go, and we are so thankful that we were able to bring him home the following day. He is in no way out of the woods but we are thankful they are on hand if we should need them again. And for those reviewers who claim they care nothing about money, Woodcroft are just clear what their charges are before treatment commences.

After moving house and changing vets they found a heart murmur which needed immediate treatment. We were referred to Woodcroft for this, I was concerned after reading some of the negative reviews on Google but I needn’t have been. Our appointment was with Zuzi and she explained everything in detail and took excellent care of teddy. She rang with updates and has stayed in touch to see how he is getting on. Excellent service and would recommend. Yes it’s very expensive but that’s the same across the board for most veterinary services.
